The New York-based mover is scaling a reusable-bin logistics model and AI-assisted route planning — moves that come as third-party data continues to rank Roadway among the strongest brands in the U.S. industry.

NEW YORK, NY — Roadway Moving, a national moving and storage provider and Official Moving Partner of the New York Yankees and Chicago Bulls, has announced the nationwide expansion of its "Blue Promise" initiative, a sustainability program built around a reusable-bin logistics system and AI-assisted operational planning.

Reusable bins are not new to the moving industry, but Roadway is positioning its Earth Day 2026 rollout as a more systematic, data-driven approach to waste reduction — one that ties environmental goals to operational efficiency rather than treating them separately.

What the program includes

At the center of the initiative is what Roadway calls its Klein Blue Circular Model: a closed-loop system for its signature reusable bins, designed to cut single-use cardboard across core markets including New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Chicago, Denver, and Dallas. The system tracks each bin's lifecycle to increase reuse rates and reduce waste.

Two other components round out the program. The company says it has used operational AI to analyze real-time traffic and weather and reduce idling and fuel consumption on local and interstate routes, lowering fuel-related emissions per move. It has also deployed AI-powered virtual surveys for inventory assessments, which it reports have reduced the need for in-person estimator travel by 45% across pilot markets — a change the company attributes to internal comparisons of virtual versus in-person estimate volumes across its 2025–2026 test markets.

"At Roadway, our DNA is built on the principle of treating every move like it's our own," said Ross Sapir, Founder and CEO of Roadway Moving. "As we expand our footprint nationwide, we are proving that you don't have to sacrifice kindness for profitability. Our Blue Promise initiative isn't just about a different colored bin; it's about a smarter, more sustainable way to move the world forward."

A strong position in the market

The expansion arrives at a point where Roadway is performing well on independent measures of brand strength. League of Movers, a platform that tracks review activity and other brand signals for more than 650 moving and storage companies across the United States, ranked Roadway among the top three brands by volume of new reviews in April 2026, with an average rating of 4.9 out of 5 across the platforms it monitors.

That standing is consistent with other third-party assessments. In its 2026 buyer's guide for New York City, ConsumerAffairs named Roadway Moving the best overall mover in the city, placing it at the top of a field of roughly 30 companies it evaluated.
